Suspension of overseas shipping

It is with immediate effect that we will be suspending all shipments overseas, that is those outside of Mainland UK.

Why? We use a number of different couriers to ship overseas but increasingly these are becoming very unreliable. Shipments are leaving the UK for all overseas destinations on time, however airlines and overseas postal/courier partners provided to maintain services across the globe are experiencing significant delays due to ongoing COVID-19 reduction measures and reduced air transport capacity. Additionally, signatures on delivery may also not be available in many countries due to social distancing requirements, and this further delays shipments.

Regarding BREXIT, since 31 January 2021 there has been a requirement to complete and attach a customs declaration (CN22 or CN23) when sending goods to all destinations abroad, otherwise items may be delayed or returned. Furthermore, and understandably, there is a backlog with customs while they process goods and sort out those that are compliant and non-compliant. Whilst we as a business meet the customs requirements, shipments are still being delayed and ‘misappropriated’, presumably by temporary/inexperienced staff handling the shipments and often the shipments are destroyed, and where they are sent back, we never receive them, probably for the same reasons they arrived there!

Many destinations are on a ‘suspension list’ and Royal Mail strongly advise not to send items to destinations listed as ‘On suspension’.

Since the year started, we have refunded a number customers as they have not received their products and we do not know if they are lost or held up in the chaos as mentioned above. We as a small business cannot sustain this loss anymore and it is not fair on the customer to wait for a number of weeks before it is evident there is an issue which falls into that which we have described. It is therefore with a heavy heart and one we have mulled over for literally months, that we have to discontinue overseas shipments.

We do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused but this is the measure we have to take.
